Summit Disc Dyes
Where Disc Golf and Art Collide
Summit Disc Dyes, like a lot of things in the Disc Golf industry, was born out of the COVID 19 pandemic. We had friends visiting us on vacation and we had nothing to do. We decided to pick up a starter pack of discs and try our local park course and that was the hook.
Fast forward a year or so and the hobby had bloomed into a full blown obsession. Like most things I decide to learn, I want to know every part of it. In the process of learning how discs are made and how they make the designs on them, I trip over a custom disc dyer named "Daddy Mac Dyes". I was in love with the designs he made and still to this day have a large section of my bag with his dyes in it.
My primary business is art. I am a landscape, nature and wildlife photographer. Being the creative type, I wanted to learn how to make these beautiful discs. I was in luck though! Chris over at "Daddy Mac" is very forthcoming with tutorials and information on how to start doing this yourself. I watched everything he had on offer, then went You Tube crazy from there and soaked up all the information I could get.
I started dyeing discs like crazy. Eventually I had more discs than room in my bag. So I put a couple of discs up on a marketplace and before long they started selling. That turned into this and here we are today. My discs are being thrown all over the country and I'm testing new methods of dyeing all the time. So follow along and hopefully you end up loving this sport and this lovely art as much as I do!
